The Fusion 360 Design workspace currently allows one to zoom in/out of a drawing on-screen (which is useful, especially when dealing with large parts), but does not provide scaling, in particular 1:1 (100%) zoom scaling, which will ensure that the design displayed on the screen is exactly the same as the actual object size. By implementing this feature, one would be able to use a ruler to measure the dimension of any object on the screen, which would be the same as using the Inspect > Measure tool in Fusion 360. As an example, when one places a ruler against the monitor screen to measure a cylinder which has a base diameter of 40mm on-screen, the ruler should show the diameter to be 40mm as well. The use of this feature cannot be underestimated, especially when designing a part to fit into an existing component, where the dimensions of the said component are difficult to determine accurately and one doesn't have a 3D scanner to scan the component. 100% zoom scaling would thus allow the exact size of the part to be fabricated to be displayed and compared directly with the said component on the screen (prior to fabricating the part) without the need for 3D scanning, which saves time, effort and costs, while increasing productivity and efficiency.
