Any ideas why there is this small island of material left on the face of three out of the four blocks ?

Hello @Anonymous,

Have you tried changing 'Optimal Load' on the passes tab?

Feel free to attach your file and we can take a look.

I am not clear why that would affect the cut, its set on my normal 20%. I have attached the file in question.

@Anonymous I noticed you selected a ripper for the adaptive cut, they can have what's equivalent to a small rad on the corner so that can be a problem. Is it a course or fine ripper, might be worth setting it up as a Bullnose and a 0.5 - 1.0mm corner rad but you'll need to be careful not to set it too big or it might remove too much material on the angled parts.

Good point its a YG V7 X-speed rougher and it has a 0.5mm rad on the corner. Although if that was the problem I am not clear why it occurred on three of the blocks not all four. The tool paths look identical.

The jobs done now and cleaned up with a rub of the file. So next time I will try with the correct corner rad added.

I have run into this many times with the roughers I use. They have a chamfer.

It would be VERY NICE if you could add a Chamfer to endmills.
