Preload tool position

Goodmorning,

I would like to ask you for some advice. We need to set the change of position near/by the preolad tool to make the input of the manual tool easier. Can it be added in the post processor? Thank you. Have a nice day

It most likely can be done.  I moved the prep tool call in a few of my posts.  However, in order for someone to really know what you exactly want, can you put a short section of code, what you have right now, and what you want after the change?  That would go a long way in understand exactly your need.

Good morning!

Could someone kindly help me to modify the post processor about this issue for which we already asked for advice?

Thank you, have a nice day

What post processor are you using? I would also recommend having that G0 XY position be relative to the machine co-ordinate system, rather than the current WCS.

Thank you @GeorgeRoberts .

Our default post processor is "Doosan 3/5-axis VMC (FANUC)". Our goal is to have the movement before the M01 code as close as possible to the inspection door.

Thank you. To do this, you will need to add some code to the post processor slightly before this line (at around line 1732):

    if (!isFirstSection() && getProperty("optionalStop")) {

 The code you would want to add is this:

    if(!retracted){
      writeRetract(Z);
    }
    writeBlock(gAbsIncModal.format(0), gFormat.format(91), gFormat.format(30), xOutput.format(-400), yOutput.format(500))
    writeBlock(gFormat.format(90));

(update the co-ordinates to be the values you want). Again, I would recommend doing it this way instead of just a G0 move.

After the modification, the code should look like this

  if (insertToolCall) {
    activeCoolants = []; // force coolant on tool change
    forceModals();
    forceWorkPlane();

    setCoolant(COOLANT_OFF);

    if(!retracted){
      writeRetract(Z);
    }
    writeBlock(gAbsIncModal.format(0), gFormat.format(91), gFormat.format(30), xOutput.format(-400), yOutput.format(500))
    writeBlock(gFormat.format(90));

    if (!isFirstSection() && getProperty("optionalStop")) {
      onCommand(COMMAND_OPTIONAL_STOP);
    }

Good morning, thank you @GeorgeRoberts .

I tried to enter the code you suggested, but now I find that the line "g00 x-400 y500" appears with every operation, while we would like this movement to occur only when the m01 code is present. Is it possible to do this?

Thank you very much.

Message 9 of 10

Yes, you could move it into the optional stop if statement below. I'm surprised it appears with every operation, if you placed it in the correct location, it should only appear when a toolchange is needed.

Can you share the post processor you modified?
