Personal Trial Version and REST Machining

I've been using Fusion 360 free personal trial version for about a month or so with relative success when combined with my Onefinity cnc.

 

On past builds I've had no troubles with the limitations of the free version requiring separate g-code for a new tool being used. However, I've recently run into an issue where I've designed a chair seat with an indentation that I'm pocketing out with a 1/4" endmill. That step works great, but now I want to use REST machining to go back over the remaining material with a smaller endmill and in the simulation it looks fine. But I know that if I want to export the g-code I'll have to suppress one of the two steps, which, in my understanding, will invalidate the REST machining as there will be no reference stock for the 2nd process.

 

A few thoughts I had to try and solve this:

 1. Can I save a representative file from the simulation that represents the first step and then use that as my stock?

2. Is there a way to have a secondary process that references a suppressed step and only export the g-code of the secondary process?

If you are using different Setups to do the Operations then when you run the Simulation for the first Simulation what you can do is "Right Click" anywhere in the Simulation area and a small list will appear, see image below.

You can save that Stock out as a .STL file and you can then use the "Load" facility from the same list to use that saved .STL file as the Stock for the second Setup Simulation, is this what you are looking for, there is also the option to use the Model as the stock ??

I think that's exactly what I was looking for. I'll give it a try saving the simulation file as an STL and use that as my secondary process stock material.
