No way to save all CAM defaults now.

Hello.

Previously "make all default" option was available to set all CAM defaults at once. It was very NICE ! All we have now is "save as user default" which saves only one setting at a time and can't be used to set stuff on/off by default straight from operation window (using tick boxes). I know that "compare and edit" window can be used but it is at least cumbersome and way worse than before. Even more important - I tried to save my settings from "compare and edit" menu but some of them (like lead out being on/off) don't save at all !

Fresh 2D Contour op after saving. Lead out still on.

I don't think the Compare and Edit dialog box received any changes lately, what about it is now worse?

I tried to reproduce the lead-out example, but it behaved as expected..

@andycoulton you can find "Save parameters as defaults" on the right click context menu of setup and operations.

This is how it looks now. You can see on my screenshots it was different before.

@seth.madore Please look again and compare pop up menus. They are clearly different now. It shows the same stuff when tried to be editen inside cam op.

"Make all default" is gone now and it is impossible to for example have "smoothing" on by default because there is no way to save "tick-box" state. No way other than compare and edit window, which is cumbersome because you have to save every parameter one by one. I figured out that when I try to save more than one (by group selecting more) it randomly doesn't save some parameters.

Hi @andycoulton,

Ive just done a bit of digging. It looks like the old "make all default" has been moved. We had a large number of cases where people had hit this accidentally and caused issues.

If you right click on a toolpath there is the option to "save parameters as defaults" this will have the result of making checkboxes ect the default.

OMG. I don't know how I could miss that. Would be still nice to mention it somewhere in changelog I think. Quite important CAM feature I would say. Thank you !

Is it possible to copy user settings from one user to another user?

Thanks!

In the Manufacture workspace, you can Export and Import defaults:

im having the same issue now after the latest update but on my heights tab. previously i had all my heights set to clearance: model top-1in / retract: model top - .05... etc for all toolpaths. Now every time i save the parameters for a toolpath it only saves the parameters and lets me use them until i close fusion. when i open up fusion again theyre all reset to original defaults. It was a huge time saver not having to go through and tick every box and type in every value needed.
