No ATC

I'm a week into using Fusion and and very impressed so far.  I have my first part to the point that I am just about ready to start cutting chips, but I have a real newbie question.  My machine is a small CNC router, very basic with no ATC.  I will have two actual physical setups and will need to change tools three times.  My question is - Do I just create separate setups in Fusion or do I need to actually edit the gcode to make sure the setup and tool change stops are present?  Past experience has taught me that its better to have these stops accounted for before you run the gcode the first time....Smiley Wink

I don't know the Mach3 post at all, but can you just change all your tool changes to Manual Tool Change? Should stop the machine when tools need to be swapped.

Oh so we should drop everything and help people on the forum and not make money ourselves?

Sorry, it's just that I don't see the need to bump topics after 13 hours. It was still on the first page so people would really have seen it.

But you could do a manual tool change.

Or

You can turn of the useM6 in the toolchange properties and turn on the optionalstop on the machine. Should do the trick.

I don't know why people are so scared to experiment. The standard Mach3 post will work fine for manual tool changes without any mods.

Here's a screen grab of a tool change.

Capture.PNG

The G28 will fully retracted the Z axis if you have limit switches and have homed your machine. Do you think we'll get another the Z goes to zero posts

The M5 will stop the spindle the M9 will turn off the coolant and the M1 will pause the machine so tyou can change the tool.

T14 M6 calls the next tool the next line starts the spindle, then G43 calls the tool lenght offset.

Laurens/Mark - thank you both for your replies, I appreciate the help.

The tone of your posts indicates that I have caused offense, which was certainly not my intention. Perhaps the old adage is untrue and some questions really are stupid?

Other software I have used has had a way to enter machine parameters - type of machine, type of coolant, horsepower, atc or not, etc. I was really just wondering if Fusion had such a feature and I had missed it. It seems to have everything else! I should have been clearer in my original post, I guess.

Again, my apologies for wasting your time on something so inane. I will endeavor to be more thoughtful regarding future posts to the forum.
