SO I am new to the Fusion 360 platform and I have already designed the part and I m now at the point of trying to create a proper set of tool-paths to machine my part. I have performed the setup of the initial facing operation but as I move over to the 2D path there are a few settings as far as the retract height, clearance height, feed height, top height, and bottom height. My question is around the top height of the part. I want to perform a facing op to get a clean datum plane to build from but I'm not sure how to set that plane/face as the actual beginning edge of the part. I don't know if the software will automatically know that height and use it and the plane to begin from.
Please let me know if this makes any sense.

Hi Joshua and welcome to the forum!
Did you create a new setup before applying operations?
It would give me and others better perspective of what you are trying to acomplish if you could upload the file. To acquire the file go to File > Export > Save to my computer and then attach the file to your reply.

Attached is the file. Im trying to understand where the top of the part is with respect to the top of the stock. I have placed the origin on the top face of the part but I dont know how far the part is inside of the stock. So Im not sure how to stack the different depths to make sure I remove the correct amount of material to get down to the top face of the part. I know that this amount of material that needs to be removed will affect the speed of the cutter.
