New style of saving posts is highly inefficient for saving files to different folders.

I have several machines, and i have more customers with repeatable work. I normally save the Gcode files to a general folder on the CNC machine in a customers folder and from there i go to the correct folder for the workpiece and store the Gcode for the correct opp in each of these subfolders.

With the old workflow i selected the CNC machines folder in the output, and after posting i could simple store the file in the required customer/workpiece folder with the storage dialog.

If i alter a file i am currently working on, (which was easy, since the last name was remembered in the post dialog) the machine asks me to use the updated file and I could move on.

Now it doesn't show the folder selecting dialog any longer, and i am forced to open the file explorer every time i post a file. Nor is the last chosen name remembered, it always goes back to 1001. For my workflow it's highly inefficient and with the previous versions i could still select the old methodoligy, but with the new and hip version of march, that most convenient version is gone and i am forced to put more effort in every single file i post for the machines.

Another thing that bugs me; i am using several machines and several PC's. In the passed the last selected machine was rememberd on each individual machine. Now it remembers the last machine used in my account. Not PC related.

Like i said, highly inefficient. (and frustrating too) Any change there is a tickbox anywhere that enables me to select the old type of file storage? I am far from a fan of the current itteration.

When you go to your Explorer and save to a new folder then the location is automatically changed in the dialog box and if you open that file again later (Assuming it is saved) it will have the correct folder location so again I don`t see a problem.

You should still be able set your "default" machine folder which will appear in the dialog box and if you don`t want that then just click the button for your Explorer and navigate to the folder you do want, if that is he one you want then just leave as is ??

Does it really matter what is showing in the dialog box ? It is going to be changed anyway when you go to Explorer ??

I don`t see any problems other than a small change of workflow so I reckon we will just have to "agree to disagree"  :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

In preferences you can use select it to use the Save As dialog when you post process. Does that help? I still don't think it will help with your default location though.

Excellent spot :slightly_smiling_face:

Is this a new "ish" addition ? I have never noticed it before :slightly_smiling_face: :slightly_smiling_face:

Yes, with the old style active that feature is not there. i haven't noticed it before this update and i doubt if it's logical to have that tickbox there instead of in the dialog itself.

So instead agreeing to disagree, i guess i was not the only one who found this feature to be helpful.
