When I run a nesting study the orientation of the parts and stock rotates from how the parts already were set. I'm not sure how to avoid this I have tried a few different things but keep getting the same result. Either way each time I program a sheet of parts I first edit the "setup" and select the current manufacturing model. Each time the WCS origin is reset to different corner of the sheet with Y direction across the narrow part of the sheet and X direction the length of the sheet.
I am wondering if there is a way to keep the WCS origin and axii in the same spot across all sheets in a nest study. In the meantime I wonder if there is a way for the stock to automatically be selectable. Each time I program I first have to edit the manufacturing model and change the stock to selectable so that I can select the edges to use for X and Y axis and to select the WCS origin. It just seems like this could be automated a little more.
I've asked a member of the Nesting team to weigh in on this question, as it's outside of my realm of knowledge. Hopefully we can both learn something!
