Nakamura Tome TW10MM, Fanuc 18iT controller - what post should I use?

Hi!

I have a Nakamura Tome TW10MM (live tools, Y-axis and C-axis). I am wondering what post to use? Should I use the Nakamura Tome mill turn post or is that to new for my machine? I don't have a swivel B-axis, only C AND Y. Any suggestions? Would a fanuc post work for normal lathe functions? How should I think about this problem and what can I try?

Thanks!

James

Have you tried the Nakamura post? It's been around for as long as I can remember (at least 6-7 years), so it's not technically "new".

Hi Seth,

many thanks for the reply. I am trying the Nakamura post now. G-code looks mostly ok. I don't have B axis or V axis (not sure what V axis is) for for now I will edit the post by hand and set the turret home moves to:

G00 G28 U0. W0.

instead of:

G00 G28 U0. V0.

G30 W0.

many thanks!

Hi Seth,

I tried out the post. It does not work. I don't think it is far out but definitely not working. I have no experience with modifying posts and am in a hurry to make parts. Can I buy a post for this machine or can someone help me and I work with them to fix it?

Many thanks! James

the nakamura post works. I use it on a AS200L with y,live tooling and subspindle.  There is a couples modifications to do if you want to get it rigth for your methods and mahine but 90% work properly direct from the post.

v and w are the incremental mode of x and y moves.
