Lots of unexplained C-axis rotations for a circular swarf

For a piece I have two swarf operations, one for roughing and one finishing. Roughing takes C-axis counter to about 1800. Finishing wants to start at about C=6000. So inbetween the table rotates pointlessly(?) for about 4200 times. Yawn!

Is there a point to these rotations? Is there a way to optimize/remove them?

are you using the same tool one after the other? you could try putting a manual tool change in.

are you using rest machining?

you could try the "optimize c axis selection" option, or maybe "polar interpolation" but thats just a little stab in the dark since nobody has stepped in with a response, theres at least something to try.
