Looking for correct CAM-toolpath

Hi,

often I would like to cut something out of a peace of wood, but I think that 2D-contour is too heavy for my little DIY-CNC-machine. I'm looking for a path like I painted in the attached file. I only find solutions to do that what I painted in blue, but I'm looking for a path like I painted in red.

Thanks for your support

You would need to draw an offset then you can use an Adaptive toolpath. For your simple example you'd have the circular profile you want to cut around then create a offset of the circle big enough for the cutter plus maybe 50% to give room for the adaptive toolpath.

You could also model in 3d what you want and use a 3d adaptive toolpath.

Hi Mark,

thank you for your answer. Did like you wrote, but I still only get the circular movement around the part and not the movement I want (see file). I have a 10mm flat mill and I added an offset of 15mm. Do you have any suggestions what I have to edit?

Thanks

Can you export the model as a f3d and attach.

Thanks Mark

See attached file. All I needed to change was unselect stock contours and then select the outer circle as a pocket selection, make sure the 2 pocket profiles point in opposite directions to make the pocket between the 2 curves. Also had to change the minimum ramp diameter to 0.5mm.

I got a warning your file was created with an older version of Fusion so you'll need to update to open the file.
