issue with passes when doing a 2d pocket around part profiles

I am using a 2d pocket toolpath to rough away stock around my two part profiles. the toolpath ramps in on one of the final passes, why isnt the software smart enough to just extend out a little bit and plunge without plunging into the material and wasting time with a ramp?  I know that the 2d contour would work but I have always had better luck doing these types of strategies with a 2dpocket, also i prefer the toolpath the 2d pocket creates when compared to the 2dcontour

I found that selecting a Preferred Entry Point will bypass the Helix entry:

I did notice that it's plunge location was slightly grazing the stock, so I made an additional sketch that was .02" bigger. Select that for your Stock Contours
