Issue regarding swarf path generation time

Anonymous
Not applicable

During the generation of the swarf path I experience the following issue. After selecting contour pairs and asking Fusion to calculate the tool path, the process time increases greatly compare to normal. Upon "clicking machine other side", then have to endure 2+ min wait whilst it recalculates the tool path. Then if I need to change synchronisation process, have to wait for another 2 min + etc.

Is there anyway of speeding up this generation process? Often first try isn't the right one and the path requires adapting.

Solutions already tried:

-In an effort to speed it up, I have removed all other tool paths from this model and asked it to only generate one swarf path. This does not work and is not feasible to produce a programme.

-I have also tried using Fusion on different computers in case it was my PC, but I still experience the same issues

I appreciate there may be a simple solution to this issue that I have overlooked- but I would appreciate any suggestions any one has- this has got me tearing my hair out!

Thank you

A 5-axis path will take longer to generate than a 2-axis path. So with that in mind that it needs a little more time isn't too weird. I do think the processor you have in your PC makes a huge difference here. So if you aren't running very fast hardware you'll see longer wait times. What kind of CPU do you have?

A quick way to get a rough path is to set the tolerance to 0.1mm and see if it cuts as you expect. Than make the tolerance what you want/need only when the rest is set correctly. Also generally the more you let the operation do the longer it takes, so if you use surfaces for selection, or automatic synchronization it will take longer.
