ID Threading Tool Question

I have had my new CNC lathe for a few months now, but this is my first time creating an ID Threading tool.

I have attached a couple screenshots (in the ZIP folder) and the F3D file.

What confuses me is that using similar settings to a boring bar, my new ID threading tool seems to have it's shank on the wrong end of the tool. Also it does not simulate a "thread" like I get when I cut an OD thread.

The control point of the tool is correct, the shank is just on the wrong side of the tool.

I am using a Micro 100, # 360500 ID threading tool.

Can someone offer advice to fix the tool definition? Or advice on why the ID threads don't simulate?

It's a graphical bug that comes up when some of the lengths on the holder tab are shorter than internal math allows it to be. If we increase this field to 2.0", the issue goes away:

Thanks Seth, however this did not fix the threads not simulating as they do for an OD thread. Is that just another bug?

The code is fine, I am running parts, it's just funny when the OD threading op simulates a thread-form but the ID acts as if it's boring the hole.

Turn off your Model display, is this not what you get?

(Ignore the collision, it's a false alarm)

Huh, that's odd.

Can you open up this file and tell me if the simulation is the same?
Looking at your screenshots, we appear to be running identical settings....

🤔

I updated the "insert thickness" to be 1/16" instead of 3/16", fixed the simulation.

Resolved, thanks again Seth!
