How would you machine this?

How would you machine this?

I am learning how to create programs to run on my CNC here on Fusion 360, but this last thing I just can´t figure out how to do it.

I want to cut this two pieces, I am practicing on wood, and I don´t know how would you machine the rounded corners in the outer countour (see pic attached). Should I use a 2D Contour? I have tried but it keeps telling me the toolpath is empty. The stock is bigger than the parts, and I only care about machining those front sides (the real stock are two pieces of wood). I will be holding them with clamps.

Can you post your model with what you have tried in it To do this Go to File -> Export and save as a .F3D Archive File and attach it to your next post, if you can not post the file you can PM it to me or say in your next post you can not post the file and one of the Guys that do NDA work will help.

There are a couple of ways to select a toolpath you can select the bottom surfaces of it or the edges of an object looking at your model it will be the second way that should work well.

Also, did you set the model in the setup.

Here is the file as you asked and how I tried to setup the 2D contour. I am learning and any tip or help on how to finish up a piece and completely separate it from the stock (from the sides not bottom) taking in consideration clamps and things like that would make my day. In this example I really only care about those rounded corners.

Thank you!

Just by clicking on the warning you can see that you need to remove or change your predrill entry positions on the last tab. See attached file

Thank you so much, this was exactly what I wanted to do. Still don´t understand clearly what was wrong tho, were the entry postitions the only thing wrong? Or was I selecting the wrong geometry?

Yes the entry positions was what was wrong, The warning icon on the operation gave you that information though it is not always clear. Your selections were fine I just modified them to get you a little more of the front curved area finished completely.

Have a look at this video it shows how to pick and set a toolpath so it is one continuous selection, not multiple selections. See this video for selecting toolpaths https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATs4rsI_TPc

To select one section of a toolpath you use the Alt key when you are selecting a toolpath.

When you set the setup can you set the WCS as well if by mistake you move the body bad things can happen if it is set it should chuck an error that something is wrong?

You do not need the points anyway if you set the toolpath as it shows in the video above it starts from that spot anyway.
