How to pick heights as "Selection"?

When I try to pick one of the heights as a "Selection", only the top

parts, directly on the surface of a body can be selected:

This does not work for any geometry below:

FusionSelectionNotPossible2.png

And when it's clicked, the "Selection" gets replaced with the file name:

FusionSelectionNotPossible3.png

In this example, it was possible to select the edge through the hole at the bottom, so I

assume that the overlayed height layers from Fusion are selected here.

So, how would I do this when I don't have a hole in the bottom?

Yes, one could create some additional points in a sketch or wherever,

but how can I pick any geometries through these overlays?

You have a sketch visible and are inadvertently selecting the sketch rather than the geometry you want,

Turn the sketch visibility off and you should be good to go.

I find this quite annoying but have gotten used to it.

Thanks to both of you!

Turning off the sketch also has the advantage of less flickering, one of the

main reasons I avoid Fusion whenever I can

Thanks!
