I had to do a swirler turbine a couple weeks ago. Luckily the height aspect ratio was within 2/1 so making tool paths was more forgiving. I ended up using a "wrapped" 2d Adaptive (you can find the option under geometry) for the roughing and swarf with a spiral step down. to finish the fins.
