Hole Drilling, Design and Infill on Additive Parts

This is a generic question so I don't think an  attachement is required.

When I finish a design and print it I generally need to drill holes in it for mounting other parts, swivels, brackets etc .

I note that even with 100% infill the drilling and tapping of these holes is not sound. I probably am doing it wrong ---either in the model or the manufacturing finals .

One thing that comes to mind--if one specifies a tap/borehole in the Design and then renders it with manufacturing--the resulting 3dprint/Gcode doesn't automatically add several layers off "Wall" around the hole. To my understanding usually as much solid wall material should be added as there is screw diameter.

What is the correct procedure for setting up the tap-holes?

Thanks

Fritz
