Haas tl1 tool change

Starters, im new to lathe work so bare with me. I have a Haas tl1 with the automatic 4 post tool changer. I am also using the Haas turning post. When the machine goes to do a tool change it looks like it is going home, them errors that it went beyond z travel. The other issue with this is depending on the tools in the changer, a tool change at "home" would hit the tail stock when it is fully retracted, not to mention the time spend running all the way home and back for a tool change is very slow in production. Is there a way to command a tool change in specific locations to avoid these issues.

In the Post Processor user properties, you can set a G53 X and Z value. It should be possible to input a new value there, such as Z 4. (or -4.) and have the machine move to that location. Also, there is the option for G28 homing, it's possible that your machine prefers that one instead.

gotcha think that does it for me there. So fun trying to learn how to read posts while learning new programs. Thanks though.
