By default the home position spit out by Mastercam ( I know, I know) is the machine home. The code retracts X 1st and then Z. This is familiar to many people running CNC lathes and is etched in many impressionable minds. On the other hand the Home Position button in Fusion defaults to a tool change position right next to the part. This could and will lead to dangerous machine crashes, particularly when a boring bar is in the turret. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a machine home default and then opt into a G53 with a check/button.
We run 10 CNC Haas lathes here, and I'm more than a little nervous about allowing people to run Fusion on the lathes. I love the program, by the way, but don't love this important aspect.
P.S. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I couldn't find setting to produce a G28 u0 w0 (Haas) return to machine zero.
