Howdy, having to learn the 4th axis on this. I tried to play around with the 30 day multi axis trial and haven't figured it out yet. I am trying to face these 4 faces but in the machine the Z axis is a good half inch above the part. Not sure why. I have attached a few photos of what im trying to do.

Assuming you are chucking on the Round Stock shown in you second picture, you have the WCS in the wrong location.

The WCS must be located on the center of rotation of the Rotary axis, so for a bit of round bar held in a 3 jaw chuck for example this would be the center of the round bar for the Y,Z location. The x can be anywhere you want

So, do I have to set the WCS in the middle of the round stock on the setup or individually for each operation? I will give it a try next time I'm at the machine. I appreciate the help.

Just set it correctly in the Setup and everything else shouldn't need touching from there

Alright, I am finally revisiting this project and I can't seem to figure out how to get it to not make round parts... doesn't seem to want to do flat surfaces very well. what am I missing? I believe I have fixed the WCS and orientated it correctly but not 100% I've attached the latest file.

Have a look at this video and file

I also did figure how to get advanced swarf to machine the face, I needed to set the synchronization mode correctly
