groving toolpath didnt leave room for the tool leadout causing a crash

the below toolpath generated a leadout in such a fashion that resulted in a crash, yes i should have simulated the toolpath but wouldnt have expected fusion to output such an odd toolpath.

unfortunatly now down an expensive grooving tool.

is there any reason the toolpath didnt correctly clearance the stock?

Would you be able to share your Fusion file here?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d/.f3z file in your reply.

Sorry, I've been occupied with other matters. Looking at the part right now, and thanks for the reminder!

This is one of the many reasons why we are developing a more robust Groove Roughing strategy.

For now, if you set your Inner Radius to this diameter, you'll get a satisfactory toolpath:

And to be fair, the original toolpath did look "off" in the Canvas and was clearly called out as Collision in the Simulation. Always Simulate the toolpaths 😉

Thanks that is what i ended up doing unfortunately it did wipe out a brand new tool holder during the crash.

When i looked at the path i assumed (wrongly) that it was a lead in on the far left.

The only weird thing is before the last update this same part ran with no crashes (hence not stimulating)

Can you share a version of that file that shows the toolpath from before the update that you suspect changed the behavior?
Click on the "V" in the data panel and select an older version
