groove milling

I have a question :

Whether it is possible to define a groove milling with using trochoidal path ?

It means whether it is possible made groove exp. 8 mm width using the 4 mm diameter cutter only in one pass ?

I was waiting for this option in new CreO 3.0, but , I think , they forget.

You can use Adaptive Clearing for this. Adaptive Clearing will actually maintain the tool engagement angle for the cutter which is better than using a fixed toroidal curve. For a narrow slot the motion will look quite similar to a toroid but as the width is increased the difference will be more clear.

Should have said "trochoid" instead of "toroid" 🙂

Many thanks for your response. I will try to use Adaptive Clearing. CAM module in ADF 360 is  new for me. I am still "green" in it.
