G-Code stopped exporting correctly

G-Code stopped exporting correctly

Hi Team, I have been  personal user of Fusion 360 for a year now. It has been absolutely GREAT ! Exporting g-code for the Stepcraft CNC has always worked fine.

Now, for unknown reasons, only small 1kb files are exported. I've tried reloading softwate etc etc.  My normal  g-code files are around 500kb and the CNC machine opens them fine. Now, as a test, when exporting  those same files by the same method, I only get non-functioning 1Kb files. I design in FeeCAD, export .step files  and generate tool paths with Fusion 360.

Help would be greatly appreciated - intermediate to novice user.

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you please share with us that non-working file, post processor and any error information? So some of us can look into that.

Thanks,

Thanks for your reply. I have been using Fusion 360 for Personal Use for over a year and never had a problem with generating .nc code for my CNC machine. I have included the normal nc file that I make – around 600 kb. I can no longer make .working .nc files. They all come out at 1kb and my UCCNC program can’t open them. I tried fresh downloads of Fusion 360 on three different computers with no success. I seems as if the G-Code feature has been disabled by a paywall?

Thank you for your help.

HI @Anonymous ,

I think it's because of the Fusion 360 for personal use. Let me give you a short overview of personal use changes.

What manufacturing functionality is included in Fusion 360 for personal use?

While this change may feel significant, there’s still plenty of functionality available in Fusion 360 for personal use. Here’s what will still be included:

  • 2 and 3-axis milling toolpaths.
  • Adaptive Clearing.
  • Water/Laser/Plasma profiling operations.
  • Turning.
  • FFF Additive Manufacturing.

All other features, like NC Programs, Templates, Tool Libraries, free post processors, and access to the community forums will still be available as well.

What’s not included?

The following will no longer be included in Fusion 360 for personal use:

  • Probing.
  • 3 + 2 axis Milling (Tool Orientation).
  • Multi-Axis Milling.
  • Rapid moves.
  • Automatic Tool Changes

Thanks,
