The sub-optimal graphics complaint is gone.
Does it help with the hang?
Thanks,

Even with new drivers, same hang. Is there some resource file it is tring to open that might be causing the hang because an I/O Exception isn't be trapped?
Does the program hang in any other workspace? Or is it only when you are selecting a tool in CAM?
Have you tried doing a clean unisntall and then re-installing? Perhaps this will resolve the issue.
The clean unisntall directions are below.
I hope that helps. Please keep us posted on your progress.
Thanks,

Did a clean uninstall, reinstalled, same hang.
I've noticed with the latest update that Fusion has been hanging for me several times a day, specially on my laptop. I pretty much need to force close and reopen. This wasn't the case prior to the latest update.
I will check out the options that innovatenate posted above to see if this helps.
So I am not the only person having this problem. What version of Windows are you using?
I downloaded it to my wife's older Toshiba which is also Windows 7 and the hang goes away. But because it is uasing software rendering instead of hardware, it is VERY slow. Is there some way to force it to use software rendering on my ThinkPad?
I'm running on a Dell XPS L502X. Windows 7 Pro 64bit. i7-2640M with 8GB with a Nvidia GT 540M. I've changed my settings to make sure when fusion run it runs of the 540M.
I note both are Windows 7 64-bit machines. Which anti-virus (AV) software is installed? Does it help if you add Fusion 360 to the AV's exception list? Another test would be to temporarily disable AV software. This would at least rule out this component as a potential cause of the hang.
Thanks,

Please try to see if the problem reproduces for the new July release. I know that some problems have been fixed for the tool library that could explain your issue. Let us know. Thanks.
René

Now it hangs as soon as I go into CAM mode. That's okay; Fusion 360 is too unreliuable and too hard to use. I am now coding gCode directly instead. Let me know when you are done with it.
Now it happens to me too (never in the past..)

Hi @admaiora,
I am sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for reporting it.
However, I wasn't able to reproduce the hang in my machine. Can you please post, except from the log file, the part file?
Regards,
Meletis

Hi Meletis,
i didin't solve it, even after clean unistall of Fusion.
I solved passing from Win7 to Win10.
Thanks anyway!

Hi,
I was able to reproduce a hang issue by using a broken settings file and noticed that the removal of these settings files are not part of the clean uninstall/reinstall guide.
If this is the problem you are experiencing you wille be able to fix this by removing the xml files in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Fusion 360 CAM\Settings
Kind regards,
Peter

I'm sorry if I revisit this old page, but I think it's better than making a new one?
My Fusion also starts to hang lately for +- 1 or 2 minutes at random moments: when i switch opened part, if I update an existing part in an assembly,....
This is getting really annoying... Anyone have an idea on a fix? I could try this fix above, but it's in modelling and not in camming so I don't know if it will make any difference?
EDIT: ignore the warning on the right, it even happens without it
Hi @arnou-verfaillie,
I am sorry to hear that you experience hangs at random moments.
You are right, the fix suggested above from @peter.pretsch would not help.
As long as it is not a CAM issue, you might like to open a new issue and post it to the Design, Validate & Document forum.
Regards,
Meletis
