Failed to generate toolpath & Tool Orientation errors from templates after new Fusion 360 release

Hi,

This morning I update to latest version: Fusion 360 2.0.17244 x86_64.

Trying to create some new CAM operations from templates I'm getting the following error message:

Jorge_Jaramillo_0-1695230997188.png

and when I press OK the operation dialog closes.

Then in the operations browser the red diamond appears next to the operation with the following error:

Jorge_Jaramillo_1-1695231132936.png

Since I'm not using the Tool Orientation configuration , I believe this is a bug in the new Fusion 360 version.

Yesterday it worked OK on the previous version.

After recreating the operation from scratch, it works without problem.

And when I compared both operations not differences are reported related to Tool Orientation settings:

The same situation happened with other operation (2D pocket) I have in my templates.

I also tried with some other design, with the same error message result.  But re-generating previously generated operations from stored designs worked well.

Does this happen to someone else running the Personal licence of Fusion 360?

Should I rebuild all operations in templates?

Attached is the F3D file.

Regards,

Jorge Jaramillo

There is a bug currently where some templated toolpaths are recognizing that Tool Orientation has been turned on (with no alignment set). I thought this was addressed in a hotfix a while ago, but apparently I'm mistaken.

If you can create a new 3D Contour toolpath, please do so and overwrite your template toolpath.

Hmm. Have you updated to the latest Fusion build (update came out the other day)? I checked on that bug I was thinking about and it's been marked as being fixed for this release 🤔

Yes, I upgraded it this morning.
I'm running Fusion 360 2.0.17244 x86_64 right now.

That is why I believe this is a bug on this new version, because yesterday it was working all right under the previous version (I don't have its version number).

Okay, I will raise this with the developers and see what's up

If you've not already overwritten the template, would it be possible for you to export it and share it here?

(view in My Videos)

You'll need to put the .f3dhsm-template file into a zipped folder to share it though.

Please find attached the template inside the .ZIP file.

Thanks! Is this the old template that was giving you the error?

Yes.  I didn't rewrite it yet.

Hello, I am finding the same problem and I'm not even using CAM templates!

So if I go back and edit a setup, for example changing the WCS, and then try to re-generate the toolpaths, I get the same error that they won't compute complaining that my license doesn't support tool orientation when I'm not even using tool orientation!
