I have a project I am working on and I need to create a standard expanded metal platform. Is there an easy way to create this material?
Depends on what you want really, if you just want a flat extrusion as in the image below then just do a single sketch of the shape you want, extrude it and do as many copies/mirrors etc as you require overlapping them to get the size
and shape you want, small example file attached
Do a rectangular array/pattern. Not Copy/Mirror
When I tried to use a pattern it was OK if I did not try to overlap the bodies which is why I ended up using the Copy for the bodies and the Mirror for the sketch entities.
I would probably do it differently if starting from scratch again but that works for now, wasn`t going to do more if it was not what the OP wanted. eg, the OP may want a raised arc type which is a lot more work !!
