Error: Unsupported 'air' coolant in Fusion 360

Does anyone have a GRBL post processor setup file for Fusion 360? I keep getting unsupported coolant errors.

I don't use flood control, so ideally I could remap the air coolant method to that.

Any suggestions?

All the best,
Dax.

What "M" code would you like to use for air blast?

Thanks for the reply, Seth. Honestly, I doubt I'll ever have more than 2 coolant types on this little machine, so I'm not too fussed which M code, as long as it doesn't give me errors. 🙂

Well, that was the question; what M code DO you want?

Sorry. I'm never going to use flood coolant, so what about using that one, which I think is M7?

It's quite simple. Open up the post processor and edit these lines:

var coolants = [
  {id:COOLANT_FLOOD, on:8},
  {id:COOLANT_MIST},
  {id:COOLANT_THROUGH_TOOL},
  {id:COOLANT_AIR, on:8},     <------- add the "on:8"
  {id:COOLANT_AIR_THROUGH_TOOL},
  {id:COOLANT_SUCTION},
  {id:COOLANT_FLOOD_MIST},
  {id:COOLANT_FLOOD_THROUGH_TOOL},
  {id:COOLANT_OFF, off:9}

If you don't want to edit the post processor, there's no reason why you couldn't just leave it set to "Flood Coolant" in Fusion, since it's going to spit out the M8 anyways. Just know that M8 is the code you need on the machine side of things to activate your air coolant. Or, just change the post to whatever you need.
If you DO edit your post, save the post processor locally and set your Post dialog to use that one instead of the generic one from the library.

Hi Seth. Ahh, that's perfect. Thank you so much, it looks quite easy.

Do you know if it's possible to add another coolant type to Fusion?

@seth.madore

Hello,
is it possible to use M7 for air coolant in siemens milling postprocessor? My machine have both coolant types, and hard materials require air coolant, but siemens 808d milling postprocessor doesn't support air - only flood. 802d which is in fusion library have the same problem.

Yep, give this a view:

(view in My Videos)

Line #231 is where the edit is made (assuming it's a stock post)
