Curved bottom pocket - How to generate toolpath

Hi,

Trying to figure out how to machine a small pocket with a curved bottom.  See screenshots below including last one where it's generated a toolpath but only for the outside area of the pocket.

Note that everything except for the inner part of the pocket (the part of the pocket below what this tool path is addressing) has been machined out at this point.  Note that I've cleared out a good portion of the material in the pocket with drilling (below)

I'm planning to use a flat bottom mill for roughing and then a ballnose for a finishing pass.  What's the secret?

Thanks,

Charlie

The width of your slot feature is .220". Your tool is a .187 endmill. Your Stock to Leave is set to .02" on radial.

The toolpath is failing because of your Stock to Leave. Reduce it to an amount that's smaller than .220-.187 divided by 2  (smaller than .016")
