Hello everyone,
I am working on a design for an armoire, and am nearing completion of the design. I plan to build this design using plywood and will be purchasing materials from a local lumber supply store that has a CNC machine. I have determined that it would be easier to have the shop cut slots for the shelves in the sidewalls using their CNC, and I have been corresponding with the guy who does that. After some research, I was able to set up a tool path for what I want to do and I sent the file to the gentleman at the shop. This was his reply:
"Basically I need a 2d vector file
all vectors joined
2 layers profiles and dados
no duplicates
no 3d
call out on depths
Send everything over with plywood type
estimate .725” thickness for ply "
I have been able to glean a decent understanding from the forums of what I think I am supposed to do (what he is asking for), but I am unsure. I think he wants a DFX file of the sketch of the side wall including the slots with dimensions on all of that, and Gcode for the toolpath. Does that make sense?
Thanks in advance!!!!!!
