Create a tool from an Onsrud part number

I have a specific cutting tool from Onsrud:

40-112

1/4" High Speed Steel Two Flute Downcut for Wood Sheet, Block and Plate A

The product page is here.

I tried very carefully to add all the dimensions, but I'm curious how to (1) share this with my other projects (via cloud library?) and (2) how to get an exact setup/library for this tool?

Thanks for any help for the new guy -- this looks like an amazing tool and I'm interested in investing the time to become proficent.

Tim

If you add the tool while in an operation it will be for this part only.

To add tools that can be used in different parts you will need to use the Tool Library.

There is a lot of good information in the CAM help (link below)

Thanks -- that helps. I think I'm going to start a library of cutting tools on github. I surprised no-one has done this.

Your GitHub idea is a good one.

I've been pushing Amana Tool to share an Excel file of their router bit database that can be converted into an AutoCad Fusion 360 Tool Library.

I did find that this is an industry wide problem and hope that Autodesk will join the Generic Tool Catalog ISO 13399 standard and help users easily import tool libraries from various manufacturers. http://gtc-tools.com/

Definitely a Chicken vs Egg issue with the end user bearing the brunt of tedious tool input and frustration.

thanks,

Stephen

Are folks here aware of the push by some for Adveon integration? It's been talked about on the Autodesk CAM forums as well, but really we're in the dark as to what Tool Library 2.0 will look like in the end.
