Can't select my model for 2D contour

I am new to CAM coming from a little bit of 3D printing. I imported a 3D file .stl as mesh and then went into manufacture. From here I did my setup for stock and got a roughing pass and a finishing pass fine (3D Pocket and 3D Parallel). Now I am trying to do the 2D contour to make the final cutout with tabs but I cannot select my model anywhere. Is there a step I missed? 

Sorry if this is an easy question, I am still very new to Fusion 360.

Edges of mesh models cannot be selected.
Conversion to surfaces or solids is required. If you look at the attached file, you can see that the 2D contour toolpath was created after replacing the working model with a solid model.

In Design Workspace -> Mesh -> Mesh Edit -> Mesh Conversion
