CAM - Mirrored part offset?

Hello all!

Loving F360 more every time I use it!

I have this part, I'd like to mirror the toolpaths in CAM. It works, but how do I offset the mirror so the paths don't run into each other?

Thanks!

Z

You'll need to make a work plane away from the part to use (offset plane for instance), as it just mirrors around the selected feature (in this case your part face).

I would suggest though that you consider using a 180° rotated pattern instead so your cut direction isn't reversed (which happens with a mirrored toolpath). Create a point around which to rotate on a sketch along the centerline of the part to do this properly.

Either method will require extraneous geometry of some sort.

Hmmm. Well, I do need a left hand, and right hand version of this part. Unless I'm misunderstanding, just a rotated pattern wouldn't be what I need. It's not a big deal, I do have both sides modeled. I just figured I'd try the CAM mirror.

Thanks for your help!

Looking at your part I'm not sure that the rotated toolpath will do what you need. I will have to look into it but won't be able to for a few hours at least. The mirrored one will definitely give you what you need but there are issues with reversing cut direction as mentioned.
