First off I can't say how excited I am to see the CAM Linking in the latest update. We build our products like LEGO pieces that can can configure and snap together. I have wanted to embed the toolpath in each part of the design and be able to use all the toolpaths in the individual files once they are all assembled. We have designs that get referenced into +50 layouts and if that one design changes I have to manually update all +50 layouts individually. This single update will save us a TON of time!
We also use configurations for a lot of our designs and I have added toolpaths into the configured designs than they get inserted into a lay out design where I want to use all the linked toolpaths. I noticed designs that aren't configurations import their toolpaths but the configured designs are skipped. If I add the tool paths, insert then them into the lay out then convert to configuration they look to be honored and update.
Im guessing this is planned but not ready for configurations but wanted to throw it out there to see if there is any way to do this in the current version?
