Bodor laser cutting

Hi,

 

We have a Bodor 4000w fibre laser, and would like to export cutting files to that machine.

In the fusion 360 is it a lots of other cutting machines, but no Bodor.

 

Is it any of you that know how to make files that the Bodor accept?

Please help 🙂

What file format does your machine look for, g-code or dxf? Do you have a sample you can share?

Dear @seth.madore,

 

I have access to Bodor fiber laser as well and I look for a solution to that question.

Bodor native files (with all parts, layout, lead-in/outs, kerf etc. stored) are .NCE.
I have tried to export DXF laser post processor, but with no luck. It does not allow to store contours order or other information.

Bodor laser also support importing of other files, but I am not sure, if this is going to be as helpful, as native files. As far as I know, previous Bodor machines were operating by CypCut if it helps somehow.

That doesn't help at all, sorry. Do you have the ability to feed it g-code programs?

As Bodor says, software supports the import of standard G code, DXF, PLT, ENG files, and manual and automatic typesetting. It is equipped with PM95A control card, NC65C integrated machine, Lambda5E and EX30A +SE001.

@seth.madore, As far as I understand, I have to select right post processor for my machine, but as the topic starter mentioned, there is no Bodor laser post processor. Any idea?

Can you extract any g-code from your machine? Do you have any manuals for your machine indicating what the preferred g-code format is? There are several laser post processors in our free generic library, it's possible one of those can be adjusted to suit your exact need. But, without knowing what your machine actually needs for code, it's a pure crap shoot

We only make a model in Fusion 360, and then make a drawing out of it in Fusion.
Then store it as DXF, and then by memory stick move it to our Bodor Laser.

It is important to initially make it as a modell with some thickness before you make drawing out of it.

No, we do not use G-code on the laser, only DXF.

We use G-code on our turning and milling machines.


Probably G-code will work on the laser, but never tried.

Hello,

 

Have you solved problem with post processing for Bodor laser? We have the same problem. We are trying to solve this problem with Lantek software enginners, and almost solve, all technologies like lead in, lead out, kerf and etc is working, but the problem is, that machine software (bodor pro, in our case) cant recognize different layer layers, and it is problem if you want use diferent layer for pats marking. Thank you for the response.

Unfortunately we have not been able to transfer any programs from fusion to our Bodor F3015T3 6Kw.

We make the programs in fusion and store them as DWG, and transfer to the laser, but it acts just like a raw drawing without any cutting parameters.



We also have big problems to make good cutting quality without any slag on the backside of the plates due to useless parameters from Bodor.

It is hard for us to make correct parameters since we do only use the machine sporadically and not every day.



I mean it should be usable parameters for each thicknes of each material type in the machine from the factory as we could fine adjust if we need.



Have you the same problem?

Hello Kare,

 

With technology on post processor is problem, if you have machine with WEIHONG controller, because Bodor use Bodor Pro 2.0 software and it is very complicated program for post processing, if you have machine with German controller (Beckhof), then it is much easier, because then they are using software Bodor Pro 3.0, and for this soft many Nesting software and post processor producers, like Lantek, CypNest, Sigma nest have solutions.

 Regarding cutting quality, it is actually pretty good, we had some challenge to find correct  parameters, because Bodor default parameters is totally ****, but after some investigation, we have really nice quality . We have laser machine only for sheet metal cutting, it is model P4020, with IPG 4 kw laser source. If you write me exact parameters you using for different thickness,  maybe i will try to help you.

Also i attached few photos from our production, it is part 8 mm carbon steel cutted with oxygen gas, and 4 mm carbon steel cutted with Nitrogen gas.

for anybody else who comes across this thread, we just bought a new Bodor Laser at the start of '25 which runs their so called 'thinker3.0' software and it does indeed has an option to feed it direct g code. I haven't worked out a way to get a sample .nc file out of it yet but the option to get the code in is there! I'll have a play and see if I can get anything working.
