Bad contour toolpath when selecting pockets as geometry

In the attached project, there are two setups that both end with a 2D contour toolpath.

If I select the contours manually, everything is fine. If I select the contours by using "pocket" in the geometry selector, I get these bizarre cuts that run from the edge of the piece to the interior of it.

This looks like a bug in the toolpath generator.

Hi @BbellYS6XC,

This is what i would expect the system to do here. By selecting the face you are essentially telling the system that this is a pocket you want to machine, the system is then looking at it and figuring out that it is an open pocket so defaults to plunging the tool outside of the work area before translating to the start point. The solution is to select the contours manually.

Thanks - that corrects my misunderstanding of the pocket geometry selection.
