Adding Y-offset to partoff move

I'm programming for a lathe with a Y-axis which has the peculiarity of needing partoff tools to move in Y in order to successfully make a cut, otherwise the blade snaps immediately with the material we're cutting.  Is there any trick in Fusion at the moment to have this entered in-program, so I don't have to edit it into the G-code afterwards?

@sumness

Please share us the G-Codes which you are using it to manually part off the operation,

with a sample file would be much better.

File>Export

Here's something typical.

SyntaxEditor Code Snippet

(PARTING OFF 3)
N341 G0 G28 U0. V0.
N342 G0 Z7.
N343 M90
N344 G54
N345 G99 G18 M34
N346 G50 S1500
N347 T1010
N348 M8
N349 G97 S368 M3 P11
N350 G0 Z3.
N351 X2.38 Y0.
N352 G96 S229 M3 P11
N353 Z-0.858
N354 Y-.273
N355 G1 X0.1575 F0.001
N356 X-0.032 F0.0002
N357 X2.38 F0.04
N358 Y0
N359 G0 Z3.
N360 G97 S368 M3 P11
N361 M5 P11
N362 M9

In this example, lines N354 and N358 are the moves in Y that I manually add in as part of the parting cycle.

Unfortunately we do not this capability in Fusion right now. However you could probably implement outputting this parting y coordinate in the post processor as a user defined property.

Hi @sumness,

If I understand you correct you will cut off the part with the Y axis. Or only compensate the With Y axis.

This is something that has to be build in into the post processor. Within the software there isn’t a option (yet).

Is this for an Iscar tang-grip type parting blade or because of the material being worked?
