Adaptive milling of concentric circles

Hello Fusion Users,

I am trying to mill a component that has multiple concentric elements. I managed to recreate the problem with this example here: https://a360.co/4dIEQQj

When I select all the areas that I want to rough first using adaptive milling, I get an error saying empty tool path with no other info.

How can I debug this issue?

TYSM!

It is difficult to impossible to help you with this information alone.
Can you provide the fusion file here?

@natesh_rvce the file you linked does not permit downloading. Please export and share your file here:
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d/.f3z file in your reply.

Hi,

Here is the attached files. I managed to go a little further.

Basically when I dont have the inner circle, I am able to do adaptive clearing to  mill the outer and inner region. However when I add the inner circle, I am not able to select the pocket between the two circles and the center pocket of the inner circle separately; they all get selected together leaving the milling process with the outer circle only.

As far I can see your tool is to big for a 2D Adaptive operation:

If you use a smaller tool it works:

BUT! I recommend another operation, namely the (in german version "Nut") operation:

then it works with your tool and the tool path is better in my opinion. See the attached file

I have just seen that your workpiece is not connected to each other, which is not exactly helpful either

Wow! Thank you for helping me out here. I thought that the separation was exactly 0.5 inch and it should have matched the tool diameter also 0.5 and therefore worked for milling.

I will explore the "slot" option; this example was to illustrate the problem I was having with selecting concentric pieces in general. I have more complicated scenario where the slot option does not work.

"I have just seen that your workpiece is not connected to each other, which is not exactly helpful either" : This was the issue! Thank you I should have spotted this!
