840D Cycle800 orientation

Good afternoon,

We've got a DMP35 with AC 5 axis, the issue we're seeing is the machine seems to be rotating in the wrong direction.

Example in cycle800 would be when activated, it would start machining on the left hand side of the part in the CAM simulation and built in simulation within the machine, but start on the 180° out on the right hand side of the part.

Speaking with DMG they'd suggested I need to have the post processor call out a - for the swivel plane direction instead of a +.

What am I looking for to change in the post processor?

Many thanks,

Ben

look for a "prefer tilt" setting in the NC program dialog and set it to negative

1. make sure you are using the right cycle 800 config. we use a ABC config, so use a "57" config for our cycle 800). This would be an option with the post dialog inside the program

2. search for "var DIR = turn" in the post and change the configuration to be from -1 : 0 instead of 0 : 1. This will force all A rotations negative. The downside is that the first move is always a 180deg c roatation (which I'll also put in the forum as a question)
