That's been known to happen from time to time. I don't think an exact cause has been determined. The last (and only) time that it happened to me, I changed the editor to Notepad. Opened up Fusion, punched out a program into Notepad. Went back into Fusion and rest the editor to default and it worked fine

For the editor, go into preferences>CAM. It's at the top

The umc is a 5 axis machine by default it's set to 5 axis B and C.

I can give you a post that has the A and B axis turned on I don't know How to use 5 axis only 4, or stick with the haas one I can change the mach3 one to b and c or a and c what ever.

@LibertyMachine back to you do you know 5 axis stuff.

Negative, sorry. I'd suggest asking on the Post Forum about implementing 5 axis motion on the Mach post

If you go here http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/bd-p/218

There is a post about setting up the post prossesor (I cant give you the page it's on the hsm forum is blank for me) for 4 and 5 it says about setting the angles and stuff all what you will need to know.

the attached post has the A and B turned on

Im having an issue with mach3 and my 5 axis mill. I have tried all the post processors that ive come across on this forum and have even tried to edit my own. no luck. I have a chinazone cnc 6040 5 axis mill. the post processor is where all my issues lie i think. I am able to generate the g code for the 5 axis job. when i post it and load the g code i get the infamous "bad character in code" in mach3 when i load the same g code into the online NCviewer.com it looks a lot better but i can tell that the b axis will crash when rotating to the next surface. long story short, i think that if someone happened to have a post processor that worked for this machine or even something close...ill be a lot better off than the mess im in now. thank you for your help :]

You need to set the range for the axis it is in here how to do it

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/hsm-post-processor-forum/how-to-set-up-a-4-5-axis-machine-configurati...

like below this will only let the b axis go from -180 to +180

var bAxis = createAxis({coordinate:1, table:true, axis:[0, 1, 0], range:[-180, 180], preference:1});

What is the bad character you are getting.

Can you start anew thread for this and post a model that has this problem and a sample G code.

Hi

i have working 5 axis post procesor for 5 axis mill
construction is table- table
meaning all additional axis are on table ...

i tested it on mach 3 but on a specific version .
i have had no problems at all and i run realy big programs
like 6300000 lines or more

also since fusion team added new option as select mashine type in creating
new setup
it realy helps a lot when doing 5 axis cam

if you want i cant send
mach version and post process.

since we are looking for solitions i am working on how it would be possible
to export g code for 5 axis robotic arm with stepper motors ...
i could use some help there .

@Anonymous it is requmended to use version R3.043.062,  R3.043.066 has some bugs in it that can make a machine crash.
