4th axis interior work?

Howdy. SO, I'm just trying to finish the selected interior radius's that are technically "inside diameter". Would this be a 2d wrap job or does fusion not have the ability to do this?

Neither, you'd just use 3+1 by enabling Tool Orientation in any finishing toolpath and rotating the part to access the features.

I agree that it's going to be easier to use positional 3 axis toolpaths rather than trying to do a simultaneous 4 axis path.

2D wrap is only for very specific and basic features and cannot do inside work anyway.

I can get a simultaneous 4 axis path with Geodesic in 4 axis but it has some collisions that make it unusable.

I would turn on collision detection but that(currently) turns it into a 5 axis toolpath.

See attached for one using "to rotary" for the primary mode, this will not fully machine the inside of the tips but this can be cleaned up with a several positional flow toolpaths.

You will have to revisit the tooling selections as a 1/4" ballnose cannot machine into all the tight features

WOW! when did fusion come out with geodesic tool paths??? Have those always been there or am i restricted due to the student version.

Geodesic came out about 6 months ago

I don't think the Student/educational Fusion Has any restrictions, you were using rotary toolpaths so you must have access to the manufacturing extension as part of the Student license

I used my 30 day Trial to get the multi axis. I wish we could get the plug ins after seeing what other options it has... Thanks for the updated program, ran flawlessly!
