3D Contour Machining Around the boundary

I'm getting a problem (which I've seen before) where the 3D Contour is machining the air around the tool boundary (see pictures). It doesn't matter if I select, Bounding Box, Silhouette or selection.

As writing this I realise that it goes away if I select "Rest Machining". Is this intended behaviour?

Tried to attach a file but it is taking an age to export it...

If you don't need fixture attached to model for purpose of detecting crash, just remove it and save file in f3d format then upload.

I find f3Z files awfully annoying and in many cases people stuff their file with junk just for illustration purpose which makes it a nuisance to share.

I'm pretty sure the answer is you have unchecked the contact only box on the geometry tab.

That seems to fix it! Thanks, it has frustrated me  a few times in the past so good to know how to cure this.
