I am trying out a 3D contour on an STL model.  I noticed the path generated doesn't get the flat surfaces of my model. Why is that.  Is there a setting I need to enable?  See screenshots.

Hmm, it's possible that it's being limited by the Heights tab, but it's hard to tell with the limited info you have provided. Can you share the file?

3D Contour is much more a "steep" finishing toolpath than a flat finishing one and wouldn't do a good job anyway. Usually you need a secondary toolpath like Scallop, Parallel or Horizontal for finishing flats well.

The Steep and Shallow toolpath is similar to this blending of toolpaths although more refined.

Thanks. I'll use a horizontal toolpath for the flat areas.
