2D contour on a edge that I cannot seem to select?

Hello Forum,

I have a part that is originally from Solidworks, assembly. Its one half of a casting pattern. I have all the ops to machine the pattern out of material but I cannot get fusion to run a contour op at the areas where the red arrows are in my jpeg. Fusion wants to pick the lower face/contour. I have tried making the part a single solid in Solidworks with no success. Is there anyway in tricking Fusion to make a contour to clean up these edges? Thanks.

Were you wanting to do this all at one Z level, or would you looking more to trace the profile, including the Z height changes?

Hello Seth, I am OK with either one. When you simulate the part there is stock left at those edges. I would 1.)like to remove it in the long straight faces but if there is a way to follow that contour up and down that would be extra nice. I tried using the "Pencil" op but had not luck. I now have placed a plane on that face (in yellow) and carefully drawn 2 straight lines that I can select in contour but if my lines are off, well my part will be damaged. Since this is a pattern

for casting all the work I can do at the pattern level helps!  Jgaertner
