Z Height Confusion

I've been working with my Boxzy using autodesk for a few weeks now, and haven't really run into something that I cannot seem to solve myself.

 

I want to mill a part out of wood (as a test), and the part itself is only a few mm high, whereas the wood is around 10mm high. Obviously, one would use the 2D face operation for this (I think?). In the simulation, everything goes fine, however, in practice, when I execute the code, the boxzy moves my stock down a few mm, and then the bit just goes along its path, never touching down on the actual piece of wood. 

 

I haven't had this problem before, and I know how to set the X, Y, and Z positions on my machine, so I assume it must be something wrong with what I'm doing.. I just don't know what that is. Can anyone help?

From what I can see, your issue is probably on your top and bottom height for your facing operation (the "Heights" tab).

 

You're setting off the bottom of the part for your setup Z, your actual stock is 10mm, and you have the stock as 12mm on the model.

 

You'll more than likely need to play with your heights on the operation. Have your top height as your stock top and your bottom height as your model top. This is only if you're wanting to face down to the part size right away. You can always offset to leave some extra or simply add a finishing pass in the facing operation.

Hi, thanks for the response. My actual stock size is 12mm, I just couldn't remember the exact size earlier.. it may be helpful to note that this only started happening when I checked the "multiple depths" option on the facing tab. I've attached the heights for the facing to this comment.
