Hello!

I have a  sheet metal part that is secured via a 1" plate.  I have a new Doosan coming and so I though I would give machine build a try.   I manage to get the machine built correct and working in machine simulation.

The issue is, with a 2.5" gage length holder,  the tool should not  touch the part.  However in machine simulation it does touch the part.  How would I set the machine so it does not past the z axis travel? Z axis travel is 20" but  in machine simulation it's traveling 22".

Usually the initial position that shows in the Machine Simulation is the Clearance that is set under the Heights Tab for your Operation so have a look there first and if need be set a higher Clearance.

It doesn`t start where you would think at the Machine Z Zero 🙂 🙂

So machine simulation doesn't currently do anything with the travel limits set in the machine configuration, nor does it simulate retracts or home position moves or rotary repositioning moves(or collisions)

There's ALOT of stuff in the machine configuration that is currently just placeholders for future functionality, unfortunately I haven't be able to find any documentation that covers what is or isn't working yet which is kind of frustrating

Thanks,  what I ended up doing was putting a datumn for where the spindle reaches max z travel down. So that I can see what tool holders I need, moving forward. I was hoping machine simulation would stop if a axis was about to hit it's limit.
