X Y Z Axis Arrows In Wrong Direction

I am able to design a part but when I go to start to put in the tool paths, the first thing is the X Y Z axis reference arrows are not at the part origin point & each reference arrow is pointing in the wrong direction. For example the Z axis arrow will be in the Y axis position and so forth.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is why our Setup gives us the ability to select the Surfaces and Edges that will best align our Work Coordinate System to how we are going to machine the part;

I prefer using "Select Z and X axis" myself. Select the surface that is normal to the Z axis and an edge that runs along the X axis of your machine

Even when I do that the X Y Z reference arrows are still pointing in the wrong directions.

The link did not work, and the file you shared was actually empty. However, the link you sent me in a PM did work.

However, that file did not contain any CAM data, just the solid model:

At any rate, lets assume that this side is the first one to be machined. We will create a Setup and we will select "Select Z and X axis":

That will give us a part that is aligned with the Cartesian Coordinate System, which is standard on modern metalworking equipment

Good Morning:

When I click on the 2 surfaces you indicate, the work coordinate arrows move down into the small front pocket,

The Y axis arrow is pointing up, the X axis arrow is pointing to the right, & the Z axis is pointing forward.

What should I do now to correct the directions of the arrows & set the them the origin point?

This is where I always get stuck at 7 the video doesn't show how to correct this.

You can set it to Model Point or Stock Box Point and select one of the points established:

Does it matter in which direction the Y axis arrow is pointing?

I have always seen it pointing towards the front of the as shown in the video but I can't seem to be able to set it up to display that way.

I'm new to using a CAD/CAM software package & I have mainly 20 years experience in running from 29"-42" vertical lathes. And the milling machines I ran were 6 axis machines. I also have had to manually program on the vertical lathes which is quite easy on GE 2000 controls & a little harder on Fanuc controls.

I guess I'm having problems understanding the Y axis arrow direction.

I'm trying to follow to video for machining the Titan 1M block & the Y axis arrow is pointing towards the front of the part.

So I assume from your video that it does not matter if the Y axis arrow in pointing towards the front or the back of the part.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

In your preferences what do you have the bit circled set to? If it is Y change it to Z then restart fusion.

Can you post the model with the setup done so we can see what you are doing or a Video you can use screencast it is free?

 

I think I know where you are going wrong at the start of Titans or Nicols video the model has the Y-axis pointing up, this does not matter one bit the origin could be in any orientation or anywhere on the model this is what the setup is for setting the orientation to what you want it to be so when you go to do the setup you do it like how I am, Seth, Titan or Nicol are doing it.

Where the origin is in the videos is on purpose so people see that you set the WCS where you want it to be.

The only thing you need to do is set the position of the origin what I show below it is the same places as where Titan puts it.
