Will Fusion 360 Produce Rml-1 code for a Roland MDX-15 CNC Router?

I have a Roland MDX-15 CNC router my father has given me, it has never been used. I just downloaded Fusion 360 and am curious as if it can produce RML-1 code for the Rolland machine. I am a young apprentice manual machinist and am just starting to play with cad/cam, so I am a bit lost as to what is actually needed to run the Roland. I read the Roland only recognizes RML code not the standard G code we use as work for the Haas machines. Do I need some kind of "converter" or plug in of some sort to make it all work?

Thank you,

Alex

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for posting! It looks like you have some questions about generating code for your Roland MDX-15 router. We appreciate your interest in Fusion 360!

To generate code for the Roland machine that uses RML code, you will need to use the Generic Roland RML post processor, which is included in the generic post processors in Fusion (roland rml.cps - Generic Roland RML).

Post processors convert the toolpaths created in Fusion 360 into the appropriate code for your machine. The posts themselves are a JavaScript code that processes the toolpath information, and you must select the proper post for your machine in the Post Process dialogue box (as shown below) - in this way the Roland RML post is the "converter" that you will need to output the RML code so that you can use Fusion to program your router.roland rml post.png

Please note that this dialogue box looks a little different if you are working on Mac OS. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions - I'm happy to help!
