Why is 0.0254 mm added to stock dimension? Stock becomes 3.0254mm should be 3mm

Why is 0.0254 mm added to stock dimension when I enter 3.000 as stock bottom offset? I checked the G code that is generated. There are also offsets in the GCode.

File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Is your part by any chance 0.0254 mm (1/1000 in) thick? If so, this is the expected result, since you are using the

Relative size box mode. You can also just switch to Fixed size box.

Looks like you're working with just a sketch. The only way I can reproduce what you're seeing is if I select 2 sketches and one is above the XY plane.

I do work with a sketch because this is a 2D milling application (frontpanel). However I dont think I have two sketches or any solid with 0.0254 thickness. I fiddled with the settings until the depth was correct so now it looks OK.

I did manage to get it to work with correct dept now with these settings. I work with a just sketch as this is a front panel type of 2D milling operation.

Fusion really doesn't play well with just 2D sketches. When you get into the cutting portion of the job, it will seldom know which side of the part to cut on, as there is no sidewall of a part to check against.

 

As an aside, rather than posting up almost a dozen screenshots of settings, it's FAR easier to just quickly export and share the .f3d file.
